Sous Chef - Full Time (County Cavan)

Salary: €40,000 - €50,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting an experienced Sous Chef to join the team in a busy, well-established family-run hotel and restaurant in County Cavan.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated chef who enjoys working with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and wants to be part of a professional, supportive kitchen with a strong reputation for quality food.

The Role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of a high-volume kitchen serving restaurant dining, bar food, and functions. You will play a key role in maintaining standards, leading the team during service, and contributing to menu development.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
• Lead the team during busy service periods
• Ensure consistent quality and presentation across all dishes
• Maintain HACCP and food safety standards at all timesAssist with menu planning and daily specials
• Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise waste
• Step into a leadership role in the Head Chef's absence

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
• Background in a busy hotel or restaurant kitchen
• Passion for fresh food and high standards
• Strong leadership and organisational skills
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Solid knowledge of HACCP and kitchen compliance
