Description

Avista is a progressive organisation, providing a wide range of services including Day, Residential and Respite supports to both Children and Adults in various locations across 3 Regions. The organisation is looking for candidates who are committed to supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families, in a Person-Centred, Community Based, Socially inclusive manner in accordance with our core values and ethos and underpinned by quality, best practice and research.

Job Advertisement Social Care Worker

Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro rated for hours of work.

Qualifications
  • QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent; the award must be considered eligible for CORU registration.
  • Up to date CORU registration / confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU.
  • Full clean Irish manual driving licence.
  • Experience of working within the area of intellectual disability and those who have behaviours of concern.
  • To adopt a holistic and person-centred approach to your role to ensure people are supported to live their best lives and an awareness of New Directions.
  • Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
Responsibilities
  • Adopt a holistic and person-centred approach to support people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Implement interventions that address behaviours of concern and promote independent living.
  • Collaborate with families, multidisciplinary teams and community resources to deliver person-centred care plans.
  • Track progress, review outcomes and adjust strategies in line with best practice and research.
