Our shop is part of a national shop closure programme and will close within the next 12 months. We are still welcoming volunteers to help raise vital funds for cancer research during the shop's remaining operations. Please speak directly with the Shop Manager for the exact closure timeline.

About the role

Our shops raise millions of pounds each year to fund life saving cancer research. By volunteering, you'll join a community of people passionate about beating cancer.

You'll be welcomed into a friendly, supportive team, gaining valuable skills, building confidence, and making a real difference for people affected by cancer.

What you'll be doing
  • Greeting customers and offering a friendly, helpful service
  • Identifying quality items that could sell for a good price, helping to raise more money
  • Creating eye catching window displays and maintaining shop appearance
  • Assisting at the till by taking payments and encouraging customers to donate through Gift Aid or round up options
  • Participating in team activities to fundraise for campaigns such as Stand Up To Cancer
The kind of person we're looking for

You don't need prior experience - we look for motivation, enthusiasm, and a team playing attitude.

  • Flexible and ready to tackle a variety of tasks
  • Enthusiastic about raising vital funds through the shop's activities
  • Comfortable working in a supportive, inclusive environment
  • Energetic and passionate about helping us beat cancer together
Eligibility and requirements

The minimum age for volunteering is 18. If you are 16-17 you may volunteer under a recognised scheme such as school run work experience. Applicants must live in the UK and disclose any unspent criminal convictions in confidence.

Where and when

Shops and superstores are located across the UK, from high street stores to retail park locations. Volunteer hours are flexible - whether you can give a few hours a week or a few days, your manager will organise shifts that fit your schedule.

Support and training

We will provide a full induction and offer ongoing training to ensure you feel confident in your role. Your manager may also reimburse reasonable travel and other out of pocket expenses, as agreed in advance.

Benefits

Volunteering with us offers benefits such as developing workplace skills, building confidence and friendships, giving back to the local community, and enjoying supportive teamwork.

Why we need you

Our community of volunteers helps fund research that saves lives and supports our mission to beat cancer. By volunteering, you bring us closer to a world where people live longer, better lives free from cancer.
