    About the OPPORTUNITYThe MQ-28 Ghost Bat is a cost-effective, semi-attritable autonomous uncrewed air vehicle developed with Boeing, with BAE Systems contributing advanced autonomy and systems integration expertise. As part of the Systems Team, the successful applicant-reporting to the Systems Engineering Lead-will lead end-to-end Verification and Validation (V&V) activities and collaborate with software and algorithm teams to develop and refine BAE Systems' components of the platform.

    This role can be based in Adelaide SA or Melbourne VIC

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Lead the development and execution of Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies, plans, and system tests to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance with aerospace standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, feasible, and traceable verification methods, and validate system models to support decision making.
    • Define and lead validation of system models (e.g. simulation, analytical, digital twins) to ensure they accurately represent the real world system and can support formal verification and decision making.
    • Manage risks, resolve test anomalies, and maintain configuration control to uphold the integrity of all V&V work products.
    • Represent V&V in engagements with stakeholders, customers, and regulatory bodies, while driving continuous improvement in tools and processes.
    About YOU
    • A University degree-level engineering qualification preferably within a Systems, Electronics, Software or Mechatronics discipline
    • Strong knowledge of systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle, with emphasis on verification and validation.
    • Proven experience leading V&V for aerospace or defence software intensive systems, including planning, execution, and issue resolution.
    • Proficient in systems engineering tools like DOORS and CAMEO, with hands on MBSE experience.
    • Experience in uncrewed systems development is desirable.
    • Chartered Professional Engineer status is preferred.
    • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
    • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
