Job Description
Role overview: The Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) team, part of Infrastructure and Cloud division, is responsible for the engineering and operation of LSEG's Group Engineering's core infrastructure services, including data centres, storage, private cloud, platforms, databases, and middleware. Our mission is to modernise and transform the experience of our customers and our own ways of working, by deploying automation and Platform-as-Product services, to enable increasingly efficient, scalable and secure infrastructure products that better support business operations and future transformation.As a Senior Product Manager , you will support IPE's Transformation objectives and journey towards Platform as a Product operating model, by playing a pivotal role in redefining infrastructure services and platforms into a product-centric capability. You will lead the evolution of the product vision, strategy and roadmap for IPE core platform products by partnering closely with collaborators across business units, engineering teams, and transformation programmes. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Product Vision & Strategy: Partner with customers, collaborators and technical teams to establish a clear product vision and strategy for infrastructure services, capacity management, and modernisation initiatives across IPE. Product Roadmap & Backlog Definition: Own and maintain the product roadmap and backlog. Prioritise initiatives that drive operational efficiency, support scalability and alignment with business objective. Business & Demand Planning: Facilitate cross-functional planning, working closely with customers and partner programs to factor inbound dependencies into backlog prioritisation and roadmaps, while ensuring balanced sprint plans. Drive cost optimisation: Establish strong partnerships with relevant partners and provide strategic input into cost models, enabling improved decision and measurable financial outcomes for the Group. Requirements Gathering : Facilitate discussions with customers to bring together requirements and translate them into actionable backlog items, while ensuring clarity and feasibility for engineering teams Ownership of Delivery: Lead cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle Customer engagement: act as a conduit between technical teams and customers, aligning with portfolio and partner program governance processes and fostering collaboration to achieve consensus on key decisions Lead Agile Ceremonies: such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to maintain delivery momentum, develop team accountability, and continuously improve execution in a global, hybrid environment. Reporting and metrics: Develop clear, data-driven measures of product performance and delivery progress. Create timely and insightful reporting for partner programs and collaborators, to advise on progress, inform strategic decisions, or highlight risks or improvement opportunities. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management: Identify and manage risks, interdependencies, and constraints across related initiatives. Develop mitigation strategies, maintain visibility with collaborators, and ensure timely address of critical issues. Develop continuous improvement and collaboration: Contribute to the collaboration and continuous improvement culture, including seeking to assess and improve processes, tools, and practices to enhance team performance and product quality. WHAT YOU WILL BRING: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or similar, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in infrastructure technology, platform engineering, or large-scale transformation roles. 7+ years of proven experience leading sophisticated, cross-functional technology initiatives as a Product Manager or an equivalent Product Role, ideally in IT infrastructure related topics. Solid understanding of technology infrastructure , application lifecycle, technical debt management and decommissioning methodologies. Familiarity with service and asset lifecycle management, change governance, and operational risk practices. Strategic and outcome-focused approach with ability to translate high-level business requirements and objectives into practical roadmaps. Agile & Scrum: Demonstrated experience running cross-functional delivery teams in Agile and Scrum methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning. Product Management / Product Ownership: + Expertise in capturing and interpreting customer requirements, from experience fulfilling a Technical Business Analyst/Product Manager or a similar role. + Shown experience working in roles aligned to product design & development, good familiarity with product methodology Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of establishing and maintaining trust with partners of all levels through clear communication, using mediation and problem-solving techniques to maintain positive relationships, and consistent delivery of project outcomes. Communication and influencing: + Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. + Ability to influence senior business customers with a high degree of professional maturity and resilience. + Strong negotiation skills in de-escalating interpersonal or inter-team conflicts. Strong organizational skills and self-motivated with strong attention to detail and follow through. Ability to thrive under pressure with a high degree of initiative and flexibility; capable of handling ambitious demands, ambiguity, and changing priorities. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for effective organisational change management and problem-solving. Data literacy: good data literacy and experience working with data, comfortable with data principles and processes (technical expertise in data analysis or modelling is not required). Crucial Tooling knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and experience using planning and tracking tooling such as Asana or JIRA essential.
