We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the UK energy sector, seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a Power business in North Wales. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's most significant power infrastructure programmes, supporting long-term security of energy supply.
The OpportunityYou will join an established project delivery team. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, operations, and asset management teams to ensure that project and regulatory requirements are fully met.
About YouYou will be a highly experienced electrical engineer with:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in power generation, heavy industry, or similar environments.
- Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and site based teams.
- The capability to review, assess, and manage design information from contractors.
- Strong technical knowledge of plant, equipment, and systems within power generation or heavy industrial processes.
- Experience in electrical inspection and testing requirements.
- Electrical commissioning experience, including FAT & SAT testing.
- Working knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations.
- Understanding of relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation.
- Ability to work within established business procedures and corporate IT systems.
- Proficiency with basic IT tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
Strong experience in some/all of the following:
- LV/MV switchgear and distribution systems (IEC standards).
- LV/MV motors, controls, and starting circuits.
- DC systems (batteries/UPS).
- Electrical protection systems.
- Transformers.
- Power station permitry.
- Contract management and budget/programme control.
- Managing refurbishment or upgrade projects.
- Basic PLC/control system knowledge.
- Reviewing electrical design documentation from contractors.
- Providing responses to technical queries and RFIs.
- Working with BAU engineering and operations teams to collate and update design information.
- Right to Work: Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Security: National security vetting may be required due to the nature of the infrastructure.
