Job Description

Provides technical claims handling within agreed authority levels as well as technical expertise to junior adjuster referrals. Works within Antares Global policy and procedures ensuring full compliance with external and internal KPIs. Monitors wider account performance through regular oversight and data analysis (as required). Supports key stakeholders in the business, including underwriters and actuaries, in evaluating the business from the perspective of reserving and pricing. Provides claims management support to cedants and brokers. Occasional travel and participation in client or market meetings may also be required.

Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Strong LOB-specific claim knowledge
  • Knowledge of the respective claims environment (as applicable)
  • Technical knowledge - legal principles, policy wordings, (re)insurance market practice
  • Preference for (re)insurance qualifications in progress (e.g., ACII or equivalent)
Skills and Demonstrated Experience
  • Experience in adjusting claims independently within own authority level
  • Working knowledge of relevant (re)insurance market systems (e.g., ECF / CLASS or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate confidently with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriters, actuaries, legal teams, and reinsurance colleagues
  • Experience with audit and TPA oversight preferred
  • Supports Line Manager and junior Claims Adjusters
  • Takes responsibility, acts proactively, and makes decisions with a pragmatic approach; demonstrates leadership on large market losses
  • Strong organizational skills, good records management, and report writing
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail and data focus
  • Adherence to the Antares Global Claims Manual and applicable standards
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team environment
  • Maintains continuous professional development through seminars and courses
Accountabilities
  • Prompt and accurate claims handling in full compliance with standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain high productivity levels to meet team and audit standards
  • Handle claims within authority and seek approval for claims above authority
  • Ensure a proactive and quality claims service throughout the claim lifecycle
  • Review, assess, and control claim referrals, raise questions on bordereau reported claims, and agree reserves and payments when appropriate
  • Lead discussions and collaborate with team members and colleagues
  • Ensure accurate and timely booking of reserves, payments, and cash calls
  • Use internal and market systems effectively, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Participate in claims audits and assist in maintaining the Significant Claims and Litigation Log
  • Handle all classes of business claims technically competent
  • Lead investigations and report significant claims and losses to the Large Loss Group
  • Maintain good relationships with underwriters, actuaries, legal, and other stakeholders
  • Provide positive feedback and influence stakeholders for the benefit of the company
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders such as brokers and market claims adjusters
  • Leverage information systems and team experience
  • Support and provide technical guidance to junior adjusters
  • Fulfill internal controls responsibilities
  • Contribute to recoveries efforts and ensure professional development
  • Coordinate with Compliance and Underwriting on product reviews and complaints handling
  • Present MI to Boards and Committees to demonstrate customer outcomes, improvements, and controls
