Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Administrator to join the team at HMP Garth, a Category B male prison in Leyland. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, you'll play an integral part in providing exceptional care for our patients.

This is a brand new role created due to growth, and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career! You will be leading the growing admin function, which supports all healthcare pathways here onsite.

Salary

£29,264 - £33,510 per annum, depending on experience.

Hours

Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK, and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Main duties of the job
  • Line manage the admin team, delegating tasks and being the first point of contact
  • Minute take in meetings, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and collate data for presentation
  • Carry out admin duties for all healthcare pathways - primary care, mental health and substance misuse
  • Arrange healthcare appointments for patients and hospital appointments
  • Use SystmOne to update and maintain patient records
  • Work closely with colleagues in other areas of the healthcare team
  • Deal with patients, colleagues and other professionals via phone, email and face to face

Qualifications
  • Experience of managing/supervising a team, ideally an admin team.
  • Experience within an admin role, preferably from a healthcare environment.
  • Any healthcare experience is a bonus.
  • Experience using healthcare systems such as SystmOne / EMIS beneficial.
  • Confident in using data, maintaining databases and producing reports.
