Are you an experienced Design Manager ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a talented and driven Regional Design Manager to join a leading UK main contractor delivering high-quality design and build projects across a diverse range of sectors.

About the role of Regional Design Manager

As Regional Design Manager, you'll play a key leadership role within our pre-construction and project delivery teams. You'll manage design input across multiple live and tender-stage projects, ensuring designs are coordinated, buildable, and commercially viable - while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients, you'll be instrumental in developing innovative and cost-effective design solutions that support successful project outcomes from concept through to handover.

Responsibilities of a Regional Design Manager

Lead and manage design management team of 14 across multiple projects in your region.

Oversee design development from tender through construction and completion.

Coordinate consultant design teams and internal stakeholders to ensure fully integrated solutions.

Provide technical and strategic design advice to bid and delivery teams.

Review drawings, specifications, and design reports for compliance and value engineering opportunities.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, design partners, and subcontractors.

Support continuous improvement and innovation across the regional business.

Requirements of Regional Design Manager

Proven experience as a Design Manager or Regional Design Manager within a main contracting environment.

Strong knowledge of design and build contracts, including JCT and DfMA principles.

Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under pressure.

Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
