Job Description

Our client, a prominent player in the aerospace sector, is currently seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to join their maintenance team. This is a permanent opportunity to provide essential mechanical maintenance and electrical support, contributing to the reliability and safety of various equipment and facility areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair all equipment and facility areas to the agreed standard, identifying detailed faults effectively.
  • Complete daily checks on machines and equipment, including statutory checks within your capability.
  • Work in shifts and provide out-of-hour call-in support as required.
  • Identify and request necessary spare parts proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental Regulations, and Company procedures during all activities.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of the Company's environmental procedures and responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Mechanical or electrical background.
  • Familiarity with working at heights.
  • Knowledge of PVC pipework.
  • Good understanding of pumps and motors.
  • Preferred understanding of gas ovens, chiller units, and rectifiers.
  • Preferred understanding of air handling units and air conditioning.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Preferred mechanical or electrical qualification.
  • Apprenticeship preferred but not essential.
Personal Qualities:
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficient in using tools and equipment safely.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Effective in managing stress and meeting requirements.
  • Competent in dealing with contractors on site.
Working Conditions:
  • Understanding of working conditions and environment in a COMAH site.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional overtime during weekends.
  • Exposure to various greases and oils.
  • Training and use of overhead cranes.
  • Knowledge of manual handling.
  • Prolonged standing with regular breaks.
  • Handling heavy aircraft components and using maintenance components requiring physical strength.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK without restriction.
  • Mandatory training will be required.
