Job Title: Pastoral Lead
Location: Bricklehurst Manor School, Stonegate, East Sussex, TN5 7EL
Salary: Up to £31,500.00 per annum dependent on experience ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (including one 5:00 pm finish)
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: February 2026

We're looking for an inspiring Pastoral Lead to join our team - someone who can create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment where every pupil feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
About the role
As our Pastoral Lead, you'll be at the heart of school life, leading a dedicated pastoral team to champion pupil wellbeing, attendance, and behaviour. You'll work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to spot barriers to learning early, put meaningful support in place, and ensure every pupil has the tools they need to flourish.
This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same - you'll build strong relationships with pupils, guide staff in best practice, and work in partnership with families and external professionals. Calm, compassionate, and resilient, you'll model the values you want to see and inspire others to do the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the pastoral team to deliver exceptional pupil support
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and high attendance
- Provide hands-on support to pupils throughout the school day
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and professionals
- Monitor behaviour trends and develop targeted interventions
- Support staff in applying behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently
- Lead reflective debriefs following incidents to promote learning and growth
Essential Requirements:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Experience in a leadership or management role
- Full UK Driving Licence
