In this hybrid role, you'll gain hands-on experience working across first and second line support, assisting with helpdesk operations and network escalations. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, developing your skills in managing, maintaining, and securing business networks.In this role, you'll work towards your Level 4 Network Engineer Qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.A Typical Day in the Job: Provide first and second line support via the helpdesk and ticketing system (Autotask) Install, configure, and maintain switches, firewalls, servers, and VPNs Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues using tools like Network Detective and Vulnerability Scan Manage and monitor existing networks, ensuring stability, security, and proper VLAN configurations Support VoIP systems and assist with access point setup and maintenance Contribute to cybersecurity initiatives, back-up testing, and occasional on-site network installationsFull training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge Passion for IT, networking, and cybersecurity Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Basic understanding of IT networks or completion of a Level 3 IT qualification (or equivalent experience) Any work experience in IT support or networking is a bonus but not essential Hobbies or personal projects related to IT are highly valued Full UK driving licence preferredSalary, Hours&Benefits: £20,000-£21,000 starting salary 20 days holiday plus bank holidays Free on-site parking Regular team social events Supportive and engaging work environment Huge potential for career progression - with opportunities to grow into cybersecurity and advanced networking roles A chance to be part of a company that puts cybersecurity firstThis apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in Network Engineering.Your Training with Baltic ApprenticeshipsThis Level 4 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of Network Engineering.You'll gain hands-on experience across all areas of network engineering - from configuring routers, switches, and firewalls to monitoring network performance, managing connectivity, and supporting secure infrastructure.
