In this role, you will be a key member of our team delivering MSK education, supporting posture and ergonomics programmes, and helping colleagues improve their musculoskeletal health. You will need excellent communication skills, initiative, and a passion for teaching and problem-solving.

Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job
- Actively contribute and participate in the planning, development , production and delivery of training courses in Musculoskeletal Education and Injury Prevention.
- Actively participate to create and sustain a culture which promotes musculo-skeletal health in the workplace
- Provide support to staff in line with current legislation and best practice
- Keep up to date with the latest research and evidence related to musculoskeletal education.
- Ensure all musculoskeletal education risks are escalated to the Senior MSK OH Practitioner.
- Assist in the inspection of equipment covered by the LOLER regulations in relation to musculoskeletal education equipment
- To be responsible for the management of own working time, prioritisation of allocated tasks
- Provide support to the Manual Handling Trainer/Link Workers
- Receive and collate audit information from wards and departments.
- Undertake administrative tasks as and when required

Job responsibilities

Person Specification Education and Qualifications- Registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Osteopath, Sport Therapist or relevant experience in musculoskeletal therapy
- Evidence of continuing professional development including education to Degree level
- Relevant clinical courses/ transferable skills in area of practice
- Experience in delivering training or education
- Qualification in a recognised people handling training course or willingness to undertake
- Teaching qualification or working towards
- Experience of teaching to multidisciplinary groups and responding to their learning needs
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal education and training, legislation, current guidance in musculoskeletal awareness, exercise therapy and principles of good back care
- Understanding of the audit and risk assessment process and contribute to their development
- Posture awareness
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal education and training, legislation, current guidance in musculoskeletal awareness, exercise therapy and principles of good back care
- Current best practice guidelines and Healthcare Standards.
- Specialist knowledge of ergonomic equipment including patient handling systems and other equipment relating to Healthcare clinical/non clinical environments
- Good understanding of the local and national political context of manual handling provision
- Registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Osteopath, Sport Therapist or relevant experience in musculoskeletal therapy
- Substantial clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in posture workshops, ergonomics
- Experience of facilitating and implementing appropriate teaching programmes to meet training needs
- Have varied experience of teaching staff either in a classroom or ward/department based setting
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience in delivery evidenced based practice
- Experience of undertaking/participating in training needs analysis and audit
- Registered Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Osteopath, Sport Therapist or relevant experience in musculoskeletal therapy
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Report writing skills ability to keep legible and accurate notes
- Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex/contentious information in a clear and logical manner.
- Ability to work under own initiative and effectively in a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Intermediate skills across Microsoft applications
- Awareness of organisational priorities and sensitive to individual staff and patient concerns.
- Set the standard/benchmark for safer and efficient use of body and posture
- Record of good health
- Ability to network internally and externally
- Able to physically undertake and demonstrate techniques in safer musculoskeletal health training effectively
- Able to travel across Croydon Health sites
- Self-driven and enthusiastic
