Lead Engineer (Multi-Skilled)

Pyramid8 is recruiting for a Lead Engineer for a large manufacturing organization based in Scunthorpe. This is a multi-skilled role, and the Lead Engineer will help drive effective maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant by leading an engineering team to maximize efficiency, performance, and cooperation with the business objectives.

1. Lead the team in response to machinery breakdowns, prioritizing workload to minimize downtime.
2. Carry out planned maintenance procedures as instructed to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
3. Ensure all equipment is safe during and after servicing and while in use.
4. Familiarize with operations/equipment and cooperate with other departments to support problem-solving and drive plant performance.
5. Utilize teamwork to provide project support and encourage innovation to enhance performance and support the future success of the business.
6. Develop and maintain skills necessary to promote a self-sufficient engineering unit capable of fabricating and building machines, tooling, and parts required for cost-effective operation.
7. Assist new colleagues in integrating into the role and the business.
8. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation. As an employee, comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, taking reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety.
9. Complete engineering administration in detail and on time to support traceability, audit compliance, inventory control, and KPIs. Produce detailed work reports to support root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

• Relevant engineering qualifications and experience, ideally in a food production environment.
