  • making sure our pension services meet legal and regulatory standards
  • advising senior leaders and external partners on complex pension issues
  • overseeing technical projects and improvements
  • supporting governance, risk management, and audit processes
  • deputising for the Director of Pensions when needed.

About you

We're looking for someone who's passionate about doing things right and doing them well. You'll be a strategic thinker, a confident communicator, and a collaborative leader.

You'll bring:

  • strong leadership experience in pensions, ideally in a senior technical role
  • deep knowledge of UK pensions law, including DB/DC schemes and governance
  • experience working with regulators, trustees, and senior stakeholders
  • a track record of leading change and improving services
  • excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • a commitment to continuous learning and development

It's a bonus if you also have:

  • fellowship of the Pensions Management Institute or Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
  • experience in the public sector or large-scale pension schemes
  • a background in actuarial work or pension scheme funding
