Job Description

Closing date for applications:24 Nov 2025

Full-Time

Location: England - London

We're the only Museum of the Home in the world - revealing home as an emotional, psychological, socio-political and economic space - as well as the bricks and mortar. Museum of the Home is a movement as much as a museum - seeing home as a lens through which many of the vital issues impacting the world can be viewed and solutions found.

Reopening in 2021, and with four years of increasing visitor numbers, we are seeking a communications professional to join the senior team and direct our Communications, Marketing and Digital functions. We're currently honing a dynamic, partnership-focused new strategy to take us to 2031 and this role will play a key part in building on our reputation as a thought leader and growing and diversifying our audiences and reach.

We're looking for someone who brings both strategic thinking and practical delivery skills across communications, digital engagement and marketing.

The role involves leading on:

  • Developing and delivering communications and marketing strategies
  • Managing media and partnership activity
  • Using data and insight to grow and deepen our audience connections.

This role is for a creative communications leader with a good understanding of the digital and media landscape. Reporting directly to the Director and collaborating with colleagues across the Museum and the wider cultural sector, this role is integral to positioning us as the only museum of its kind in the world - exploring the meaning of home from the 1600s to the present and future.

You'll be responsible for engaging and growing the Museum's audiences through data -driven creative marketing campaigns, digital content, website, press and brand activities.

We are an equal opportunity employer and aim to attract candidates from all backgrounds whatever their age, disability, race, gender, sexuality or socio-economic context may be. We are committed to ensure that all job applicants and employees are treated equally and fairly. The Museum aims to recruit, retain and develop employees based on the value of their contribution and potential. Equal treatment applies to all aspects of employment including: recruitment, pay, hours, holidays, work allocation, sickness benefit, training, promotion, work environment and redundancy. The Museum is committed to improving diversity and promoting inclusion in all respects and encourages all employees to play an active role in initiatives which are intended to bring about positive change in these areas. Any issues should be addressed without delay through our internal procedures.
