Job Title: Facilities Assistant
Location: Waterloo Lodge School, Chorley, Lancashire, PR6 7AX
Salary: £6,890 per annum (£13.25 per hour)
Hours: 10 hours per week Monday 06:45-08:45am Tuesday-Friday 15:30-17:30
Contract: Permanent Part-Time 52 weeks
Start date: December 2025

About the Role
Working alongside our Facilities Manager, you'll play a vital part in the day-to-day upkeep of the school site - helping to create a space where pupils can learn and staff can teach without interruption.
This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days are the same. From fixing a leaky tap to making sure our classrooms and outdoor areas are spotless, your work will have a real, visible impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site
- Supporting with groundskeeping and site housekeeping
- Ensuring all areas are safe, secure, and compliant with health and safety standards
- Assisting with vehicle checks and basic fleet maintenance
- Opening and closing the school site as part of the daily routine
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a reliable, practical team player who takes ownership and pride in their work.
You'll be:
- Proactive - you spot what needs doing and take initiative
- Dependable - the team can always count on you
- Safety-conscious - you take care to keep everyone safe and sound
You'll bring:
- A full UK driving licence (desirable)
- Experience in maintenance, caretaking, or a similar hands-on role
- Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed

You'll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
