Job Description
Enterprise Development Manager based in Tuam, Co. Galway - 30 hrs pw Reporting to: Chairperson Operational Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the organisation and its associated facilities.
  • Ensure maintenance and cleaning contractors consistently perform their duties to keep both the exterior grounds and the interior of the offices clean, tidy, and professionally presented.
  • Issue invoices to tenants within the facility in line with the agreed payment schedule (monthly, quarterly, or annually in advance).
  • Submit all sales and purchase invoices on a monthly basis for approval and for subsequent transmission to the company's accountants, ensuring timely and accurate VAT returns and accounting records.
  • Promptly notify the Board of any instances of rent arrears from tenants.
  • Prepare the annual budget, business plan and set strategic objectives in collaboration with the Chairperson and Treasurer, adhering to timelines agreed upon by the Board.
  • Circulate the agenda for quarterly Board meetings, attend and report on activities, and ensure reports are submitted at least five working days in advance. Coordinate with the Secretary to ensure minutes are distributed prior to the subsequent meeting.
  • Prepare and submit a financial summary at least one week ahead of each quarterly Board meeting. This summary should include a lease analysis of tenants and an overview of bank account balances for the period.
  • Advise the Chairperson and Board on any matters that may have financial or legal implications for the company.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including record-keeping, invoicing, and report preparation.
  • Maintain a professional demeanour at all times, embodying the values and ethos of the organisation and positively representing the organisation.
  • Comply with all organisational policies and procedures, including those relating to health and safety, ensuring they are upheld at all times.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Board from time to time.
  • Be available for phone and email communications during normal working hours, and respond promptly to queries from Board members.
  • Review the organisation's governance requirements and implement a programme to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to any issues or challenges that arise.
Community and Strategic Partner Relationships
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local and regional agencies, as well as educational institutions.
  • Engage with local business and community groups to understand the wider needs of the area.
  • Represent organisation at relevant industry and community events
  • Identify, propose, prepare feasibility studies and implement growth-oriented projects to support the company's development.
  • Lead the promotion and marketing through a refreshed website, active social media presence, and the organisation of events, workshops, and training seminars.

Strategic Responsibilities
  • Prepare grant applications, monitor awarded grants to ensure funds are received and spent as intended, and ensure full compliance with the conditions attached to each grant. Collaborate with external consultants as required.
  • Take ownership of updating and implementing the organisation's strategic plan.
  • Work in conjunction with the Board of Directors to maximise the economic development potential of the organisation's assets.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of enterprise projects in collaboration with key partners and stakeholders, while managing associated project budgets.
