Location: Glasgow/hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Salary/Rate: Up to £348 per day INSIDE IR35

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Engineering Lead to join their team for a contract until the end of the year.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
The Engineering Lead will oversee a team focused on automating guardrails and delivering end-to-end technology application change automation. This includes the development of solutions that integrate strategic toolchains, change platforms, and automation of preventative and detective guardrails. The goal is to reduce manual checks, enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls throughout the change life cycle.

1. Lead and manage engineering teams, providing mentorship and fostering a high-performance culture
2. Oversee project timelines, team allocation, and risk management to ensure successful solution delivery
3. Mentor and support the professional growth of team members
4. Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
5. Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement testing practices

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Data expertise: Understanding of data principles, integrity, lineage, and event-driven data
2. ServiceNow knowledge of knowledge of, but not essential Knowledge of end-to-end IT change life cycles and asset management is required ie Component technologies vs Applications vs Systems
3. Automation: Scaled automation of functional/non-functional tests (guardrails/fitness functions)
4. DevOps experience: GitLab, REST APIs, KAFKA, Python (analytics), AWS
5. Other technologies: AWS, SQL, Python, Java
