eDV Senior Test Engineer

Opportunity:

iO Associates GD&S have partnered up with an established organisation who are looking for a highly skilled Senior Test Consultant to join a dynamic, agile delivery team working on innovative central government projects. This is a critical role where the successful candidate will take the lead in embedding both manual and automated testing practices across the full software development life cycle.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust automated test frameworks across UI and API layers
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing where appropriate
• Leverage a range of open-source testing tools and frameworks
• Embed testing best practices (TDD, BDD, ATDD) into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps, and analysts
• Continuously improve the test architecture and QA processes
• Support non-functional testing, including performance, security, accessibility, and operational acceptance
• Participate in QA guilds and contribute to internal knowledge sharing

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong background in manual and automation testing
• Proven expertise in Selenium and Java
• Experience working in agile delivery environments
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps culture
• A proactive, self-directed approach and a passion for quality

Desirable:

• Knowledge of TDD, BDD, or ATDD methodologies
• Exposure to performance, accessibility, or security testing tools
• Experience working in similar, highly regulated environments
