Following the opportunity for the current post holder to take up a secondment offer, applications are invited from an experienced teacher and leader for the post of Deputy Headteacher -secondment, at Aberaeron Comprehensive School.
Aberaeron Comprehensive School is a naturally bilingual school; serving a wide catchment area in the centre of Ceredigion, with almost 600 pupils aged 11-19 on roll, including a successful 6 th form.
The Governors are searching for a person who has the ability to lead, manage, communicate and collaborate with others, who possesses the ability and experience to be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the process of evaluation and self-evaluation of the school's work and is also expected to provide guidance and leadership on whole school matters, which will require extensive experience and a proven track record in school leadership. The school has a high expectation of its pupils and the successful candidate is expected to promote and contribute to further improve these standards.
The person appointed will be expected to be able to offer ideas, develop policy and strategy and be able to evaluate the provision offered by the school.
The post will carry a range of responsibilities that reflect the successful candidate's strengths and interests. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Leader to further his/her professional development within the Senior Leadership Team in a supportive and stimulating environment.
The main responsibilities for the postholder are:
- Learning and Teaching
- Skills overview - literacy; numeracy; digital literacy
- Quality assurance and all book scrutiny processes; learning trips learner voice; lesson observation
- Staff absence (Overview, not administration)
