Description

Work that matters

You know that feeling when you see work that just gets it - that stops you, makes you lean in, stays with you for days? That's what we're after.

For over a decade, we've been making images of places that don't exist yet - and making people feel them. Not just see them. Feel them. That moment when a developer goes quiet because they've just glimpsed their vision for the first time. When someone walks through a VR experience and forgets it's not real. When a single frame makes a room full of investors say yes.

That's the magic. That's what makes us tick.

We're a studio of artists, directors, technical pioneers, obsessives. People who care way too much about the fall of light at 4pm. Or the historical accuracy of a chandelier detail. Or the fine line between a composition which is technically accurate and one that people can believe in.

Requirements

What we're really looking for

We need someone who gets it.

Someone who can look at a brief and see the story hiding inside it.

You will have been doing this for long enough to know when the work is good and when it's just fine. And fine isn't good enough for you. It never has been.

You can lead a team through the messy middle of a project - when the client changes their mind, when the deadline compresses, when the thing that looked brilliant at 8pm looks wrong at 8am. You bring clarity when everything's chaos. You make people better just by working alongside them.

You're the person artists want feedback from. The person clients' trust. The one who somehow makes impossible timelines work without burning everyone out.

You think in images. You lead through your craft. And you know that the best work happens when you give talented people a clear vision, genuine support, and the space to surprise you.

What you'll actually do

Lead projects that matter. From the quick turnarounds to the flagship stuff - you'll be working on projects that define what architectural visualisation can be. The kind of projects you'll put in your portfolio five years from now and still feel proud of.

Make your team better. Not by standing over shoulders, but by showing them what's possible. Push their thinking. Develop their eye. Help them create work they didn't know they were capable of.

Own the vision. From the first conversation to workshops to final delivery. Shape the narrative. Perfect the look. Make every frame count. You'll work across stills, film, VR - whatever tells the story best.

Be the bridge. Between what clients think they want and what they actually need. Between ambitious ideas and practical delivery. Between chaos and clarity.

Protect the work. Know when to fight for the creative and when to be pragmatic. Know when real-time works and when you need the control of offline rendering. Bring in new tools when they genuinely make things better, not because they're shiny.

What You'll Bring:

A minimum of 10+ years in archviz - and a portfolio that proves it. Not just pretty pictures. Work with impact. Projects where you can point to the brief, the challenge, and how your vision solved it. Work that made things happen.

A genuine understanding of craft. Composition. Light. Colour. Cinematic language. The building blocks that separate good from extraordinary. You know them instinctively.

The ability to lead without ego. You've mentored people. Managed complex programs. Kept creative standards high when everything's falling apart. You can direct, inspire, and support - all at once.

Real creative range. You can concept from scratch. You're well versed in the film storyboard process. You can write treatments that get people excited. You can present work and read the room. You can pivot when you need to.

The stamina for the reality of it. High volume. Quick turns. Multiple projects. Shifting priorities. This isn't a job for someone who likes things neat and predictable.

That thing you can't teach. You care. About the work, about the people, about getting it right. It matters to you.

What We'll Give You:

The setup to succeed. You'll be paired with a senior production manager handling the logistics and backed by a brilliant peer group of creative directors who get it - a team of senior artists and leads who share your standards.

Support to evolve. You'll have time and support to test new approaches (offline and realtime) when it makes the work better. If you want to try something, we'll back you.

Open conversations. Kind, specific feedback and fast decisions that keep you moving, but motivated.

A global creative community. Access to brilliant people across three studios bringing different perspectives and skills.

Trust. We're not going to micromanage you. You'll have autonomy, accountability, and the backing to pursue creative excellence. We hired you for your judgment - we'll let you use it.

The space and help to grow. We'll help you take your vision for what this work can be to the next level.

About Us:

You'll have done your research, so you already know the basics.

We're The Boundary.

A global team of more than 200 creatives, artists, architects, engineers, developers and leaders, based in London, New York, Dubai and Auckland and partners to some of the most prestigious and recognised developers and brands clients across the world.

Founded by award winning architects Henry Goss and Peter Guthrie, we have always had an innate understanding of how to design buildings and bring the visions of the developers and brands to life.

We've been the pioneers of our industry for over 20 years now. From using Hollywood virtual production technology, to path tracing in real-time engines for photorealistic output - we have led the way.

Digital twin infrastructure. AI integration. Gaussian splatting. We don't wait for the industry to catch up, we're already testing what comes next.

But always with a core belief in beauty and the artistry of what we do.

There's much more to tell you, about how we work and the values we live by, but we'll save that for the next conversation. Just know for now that we're about as far away from average as you can get.

If you appreciate that and recognise it in yourself, let's talk.
