Job Description

The job of the Charity Shop Manager is:

To be the main point of contact for MADM s Charity Shop.

Responsible to Charity Manager

To be proactive in promoting the shop to the wider public.

To co-ordinate the collection, sorting, and pricing of donations.

To supervise staff and volunteers.

To ensure that the shop is physically appealing to the customers, ensuring that it is clean and tidy always, that it is decorated when necessary and that the windows are regularly redressed.

To be responsible for the training of staff and volunteers

To co-ordinate the volunteer staff rota.

To ensure that MADM Policies and Procedures are adhered to by all staff and volunteers.

To be responsible for all online sales through the Charity s website and online selling sites

To handle company card and ensure all receipts are processed within the finance team guidelines.

To be responsible for the completion of all financial processes and banking.

To keep a record of shop income and keep Management team aware of figures.

To attend regular Management meetings.

To create reports for the attention of the Trustees when required

To complete all relevant administrative duties as required

To undergo training if deemed appropriate by your line manager.

To represent MADM at meetings, conferences, and events with external agencies when necessary.

Work within relevant Health and Safety guidelines to maximise the safety of staff and volunteers.

Carry out other additional safe and reasonable duties relating to the above, under the direction of your line manager, which may on occasion be deemed necessary.

Candidate requirements:

Candidate must have experience of working in a sales targeted environment.

A non-judgemental approach to working with everyone accessing the service.

Ability to self-motivate and use own professional judgement in developing working activity.

Ability to be responsive and flexible in approach to work, as well as adaptable to change when necessary.

Make a positive contribution to effective team working.

Must have a proactive and positive attitude.

Ability to manage own workload to fulfil outcomes.

Work Attire

  • Warm clothes in the winter months as building is cold
  • No shorts (important to avoid cuts and bruises to legs) unless there is hot weather.
