Job Description

JDRoss have partnered with a client who are playing a pivotal role in the great grid upgrade.

The Role:
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with project requirements for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership.
  • Provide technical leadership across pre-contract and delivery stages.
  • Identify temporary works needs and allocate engineering resources effectively.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with consulting engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and other statutory requirements.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the Infrastructure business unit.
  • Support bids, tender reviews, and pre-contract activities.
  • Lead mobilisation of new contracts, ensuring health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are met.
  • Oversee engineering administration functions and maintain compliance records.
  • Represent the company on industry forums and professional networks.
The Candidate:
  • Substations experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant field
  • Chartered Engineer or similar and participation in affiliated bodies for example Institute of Civil Engineering
  • Previous senior level involvement in the provision of design management services for civil engineering design and construction in the highways, rail, energy and water sectors
  • Significant senior level involvement in large project tender teams including price and quality adjudicated bids
  • An understanding of commercial aspects including typical terms and conditions and procurement models
  • Experienced in the management, surveillance and audit of assurance regimes
  • Experience of managing design process in tender or contract environment
  • Experience with working in joint ventures and alliances or other collaborative working
