Job Description

Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for delivering safe, high quality care? We are recruiting a Care Centre Director to take full responsibility for the leadership, performance, and strategic direction of a specialist inpatient service supporting adults with complex mental health, neurological, or rehabilitation needs.

This is a senior role requiring strong operational oversight, excellent people leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across clinical and non clinical functions.

About the Role

As the Care Centre Director, you will be the accountable leader for the service, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and organisational standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, oversee governance, and ensure the service delivers exceptional outcomes for the people who use it.

You will work closely with regional leadership, commissioners, and external partners, acting as the face of the service and ensuring strong relationships that support quality, compliance, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the service
  • Ensure high quality, person centred care in line with regulatory standards
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, promoting a positive and supportive culture
  • Oversee governance, audits, incident management, and quality improvement
  • Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding frameworks, and internal policies
  • Build strong relationships with commissioners, local authorities, and external stakeholders
  • Lead recruitment, workforce planning, supervision, and performance management
  • Drive service development, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Act as the accountable leader for safety, risk management, and service delivery
  • Represent the service at regional meetings, reviews, and commissioning discussions

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience within healthcare, social care, or a regulated care environment
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, and financial performance
  • Excellent people leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Confident decision maker with strong problem solving and organisational abilities
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience leading services through audits, inspections, or improvement plans
  • Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, high quality care
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
