Associate Director - Downstream Energy

My client, a London market broker, is seeking an experienced Downstream Energy Broker to join its established Energy division. This is a senior-level appointment, offering the chance to step into a pivotal role within a high-performing team, reporting directly to the Head of Energy.

• Manage and grow a portfolio of downstream energy clients, maintaining strong relationships and delivering first-class service.

• Lead placement and negotiation activity in the London market.

• Balance broking and client management responsibilities, ensuring consistent delivery across both areas.

• Support the development of junior team members through training and mentoring.

• Provide input into divisional strategy and contribute to long-term business growth.

• Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events, with international travel.

• At least 5 years' experience in downstream energy insurance within the London market.

• Strong technical expertise across downstream energy risks.

• Proven ability to manage client portfolios and deliver high-value placements.

• Comfortable balancing strategic input with hands-on broking responsibilities.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
