Are you an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) with extensive knowledge of Urgent Treatment Centres?
We're seeking a skilled professional proficient in both minor illness and minor injury to join our team in Colchester.
You will take a lead role in the education and training of all non-medical staff within the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), while also supporting the development of GP trainees.
You will ensure that all staff are clinically competent and confident in meeting the evolving demands of the service.
While primarily based in Colchester, you will be required to visit other sites.
Main duties of the jobA core responsibility will be to design, coordinate, implement, and oversee a robust educational framework. This will include clinical supervision, teaching, and structured support for staff transitioning from training into qualified practice and beyond, fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
You will bring extensive clinical expertise in the management of both minor injuries and illnesses, including advanced skills such as fracture manipulation.
In addition to their educational responsibilities, you will continue to practice as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, working with a high level of autonomy and complex decision-making. You will demonstrate excellence across the four pillars of advanced practice: Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education, and Research. Your work will contribute to innovative, patient-centred care and improved outcomes within their area of specialty.

Person Specification Experience- Completed or portfolio of supervised practice in advanced clinical practice, or equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Evidence of clinical work in an autonomous role
- Evidence of recent teaching, mentorship, and supervision of staff
- Evidence of multi - professional working
- Evidence of clinical expertise in the management of both minor injuries and illnesses, including advanced skills such as fracture manipulation.
- Evidence of quality improvement methodology and audit experience
- Evidence of involvement in change management
- Professional Registration with either NMC, or HCPC.
- Possession MSc in Advanced Practice or recognised equivalent by HEE Centre Advancing Practice
- Non-Medical Prescribing (v300) if appropriate to registered profession /role.
- Leadership/management course
- Possession of 1st degree in a clinical field e.g., Nursing, physiotherapy at a minimum 2:2 classification
- Evidence of continuing education
- Teaching qualification
- Demonstrates a high degree of knowledge within specialty.
- Demonstrate an understanding of current developments in the relevant speciality.
- Demonstrate the ability to utilise current research finding in practice.
- Understand, encourage, and support clinical supervision.
- Knowledge of clinical governance and risk assessment/management
- Knowledge of infection control issues
- Knowledge of current NHS, professional and educational issue
