Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will oversee the full purchase ledger process, manage supplier relationships, and ensure financial compliance. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on accuracy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchase ledger: raise purchase orders, process invoices, verify delivery notes, and oversee payment authorisations
  • Oversee employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations
  • Support project billing by exporting data and liaising with project teams
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accurate coding of transactions
  • Maintain supplier records, assess credentials, and support compliance evaluations
  • Continuously review and improve finance processes and procedures

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounts payable role, ideally in a multi-currency environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SAGE, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)

Desirable
  • Further education in Finance or Business (A Levels, NVQ, BTEC)
  • Previous experience in a similar managerial or senior AP role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
