Role Overview:To undertake the cleaning, clearance, sanitisation, and mould remediation of vacant residential and occupied properties, ensuring homes are returned to a safe, hygienic, and lettable standard. The role involves carrying out specialist mould treatment, deep cleaning, waste removal, and minor property preparation works in accordance with company procedures, health and safety legislation, and customer service standards.
Responsibilities:- Perform deep cleaning of kitchens, bathrooms, living areas, communal spaces, and external areas to meet agreed lettable standards.
- Identify, assess, and treat mould growth using approved cleaning agents, fungicidal treatments, and specialist equipment.
- Remove mould contaminated materials where required and prepare surfaces for redecoration. This may be in occupied or unoccupied properties.
- Undertake mould washing and sanitisation works in accordance with company policies and COSHH regulations.
- Complete minor remedial works associated with damp and mould treatment, including surface preparation, stain blocking, and touch up decorating. Use anti mould growth paint.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and within agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works, including photographs, inspection reports, and job sheets.
- Report property defects, health and safety concerns, and safeguarding issues to management.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, tools, vehicles, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, housing officers, maintenance teams, and contractors to achieve service objectives.
- Deliver a professional and customer focused service at all times.
- Comply with all Health and Safety legislation, company policies, and safe working practices.
- Adhere to COSHH regulations when handling cleaning chemicals and mould treatment products.
- Use appropriate PPE, including respiratory protection, gloves, eye protection, and protective clothing.
- Carry out risk assessments and follow method statements where required.
- Ensure waste materials are disposed of in accordance with environmental and company guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
- Experience in cleaning, property clearance, facilities management, social housing, or property maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, hygiene standards, and mould remediation processes.
- Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe manual handling procedures.
- Ability to use mobile devices or electronic systems to record completed work.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience working within social housing or void property services.
- Knowledge of damp and mould diagnosis and prevention.
- COSHH awareness training.
- Health and Safety qualification or relevant industry training.
- Reliable and self motivated.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Professional and customer focused approach.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and workmanship.
The role involves working within vacant residential properties and may require frequent lifting, carrying, bending, climbing stairs, and the use of cleaning chemicals and specialist mould treatment products. Appropriate training and PPE will be provided.
