Job Description
Position Overview 
Opportunity within our Community Development & Wellbeing team for a Nursery Practitioner. The Nursery Practitioner will deliver a nursery service on behalf of Poplar HARCA, ensuring a full programme of activities is available to the children in care and that all statutory and best practice childcare and safeguarding practices, policies and procedures are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate with parents and carers in a positive and constructive manner and encourage parental involvement.
- Provide a high standard of care and education.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards diversity, disability and behavioural management.
- Offer a full programme of activities at each session, planning carefully and involving other staff, trainees and volunteers to develop each child's potential.
- Have a working knowledge of first aid and health & safety procedures and apply them appropriately. Setting up, lifting and storing heavy equipment is required.
- Maintain records in line with Poplar HARCA, local authority or Government guidelines (attendance, accident and incident books, children's records).
- Ensure the continual development of the nursery in line with national and local requirements and policies.
Employment in this role is dependent on an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Additional checking against the Children's Barred List is required.
