Trust Resident Doctor - ST1/2 (MN35) - Trauma and Orthopaedics

Full time resident doctor (ST1/2) role in the Trauma and Orthopaedics team across Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital. The position follows a comprehensive training programme and involves participation on trauma lists, elective surgery and governance activities.

Responsibilities

Participate in daily trauma lists and elective orthopaedic procedures.

Attend the on call rota with an active trauma team role.

Conduct clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of trauma and orthopaedic patients.

Work collaboratively with nursing, technical and administrative staff.

Qualifications and Experience

• Eligible for full GMC Registration. Successful completion of PRHO posts (or equivalent).
• Distinctions, scholarships, FRCS or other academic qualifications (e.g. BSc, Masters, PhD).
• Competent in basic procedures: CPR, infection control, physical examination, history taking.
• Understanding of NHS clinical governance, audit processes and patient confidentiality.
• Experience participating in clinical audit.
• Appreciation of primary and secondary care relationships and current NHS issues.

This is a full time, substantive position.

Residency sessions will include operative exposure across all orthopaedic specialities.
