Job Description
ZeroAvia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Systems Safety Engineer to support our system safety assessments for engine type certification applications and permit-to-fly test aircraft approvals from aviation regulators.

Main Responsibilities:- Conduct Qualitative and Quantitative Safety Analyses at System and Aircraft Level based on the ARP4761A standard (FHA, PSSA, SSA, FTA, FMECA, CMA, PRA, ZSA, etc.)
- Generate safety requirements for the system and sub-system design teams and collaborate to ensure compliance
- Create reasoned safety arguments for complex and novel systems and communicate these to relevant stakeholders
- Support familiarisation and panel reviews with the UK CAA and other regulatory authorities
- At least 5 years of practical experience in a similar role
- Aeronautical engineering degree or equivalent experience in aerospace industry
- Strong working knowledge of Aircraft/System Safety Assessment following ARP4761A (or equivalent standard) including FHA, FTA, FMEA, CMA, etc.
- Awareness of commercial aerospace certification regulations for aircraft and/or engines, e.g., Part 23/CS-23, Part 33/CS-E
- Good working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and ALARP justifications
- Knowledge of safety assurance techniques for new safety-critical products/components
- Experience with writing and managing system requirements
- Knowledge of systems development following ARP4754 (or equivalent standard)
- Knowledge of Reliability prediction techniques, e.g., MIL-HDBK-217F
- Knowledge of Software Certification to DO-178C or Hardware Certification to DO-254
- Previous approval as Part 21J Compliance Verification Engineer for Systems Safety
- Experience working within a Part 21J Design Organisation environment
