Senior Store Assistant (keyholder) - Exeter Marsh Barton - 20 hours per week. You must be locally based and able to commute to the store, which is open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so early starts and late finishes are required.
You will be the friendly face of Toolstation, helping customers find what they need and also handling deliveries, warehouse tasks, and stocking shelves. The role can be hot in summer and chilly in winter, but a strong focus on customer service and a positive attitude are essential.
This position carries accountability for supporting colleagues to deliver a great customer experience. Retail experience is not essential, but you should have some experience acting as a key holder or supervising team members.
- Get stuck in: Handle deliveries, unpack stock, keep the store clean, and prepare orders.
- Provide outstanding service: Offer a great experience at all times, even during busy periods.
- Ask the right questions: Show genuine interest in customers' projects to help them find everything they need.
- Be proactive: Promote the Toolstation Club and Trade Accounts, signing customers up for competitive deals.
- Keyholder responsibility: Open and close the store, assign daily tasks to the team, and provide short term supervisory cover when needed.
- A friendly personality: Maintain high store standards and create a workplace everyone enjoys.
- Reliability: Be there when needed. Flexibility, commitment, and support for customers and the team are key.
- Accountability: You have taken charge in a previous role and are happy to step up when required.
