Job Title: Senior Associate Solicitor - Family Law Location: Bury / Salford, Greater Manchester Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate Solicitor with strong Family Law experience to join a busy, well-established team in Greater Manchester. This role is ideal for a solicitor who is confident managing a complex and varied caseload, including both private and children law matters, and is looking to take the next step in their career with leadership and client facing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse family law caseload, including:
  • Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
  • Private law children matters (residence, contact, relocation, etc.)
  • Injunctions (non molestation, occupation orders)
  • Cohabitation disputes and property claims (including TOLATA matters)
  • Draft pleadings, financial settlement documentation, orders, witness statements, and court forms.
  • Attend client meetings, mediations, and court hearings; instruct counsel where necessary.
  • Supervise and mentor junior fee earners and paralegals.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, networking, and client engagement.
  • Travel locally between Bury and Salford offices, as well as to client meetings and court appointments.
Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified solicitor with significant post qualification experience in family law.
  • Proven experience in divorce, financial remedy, private law children matters, and cohabitation disputes.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently while providing guidance to junior team members.
  • Proactive and commercially aware, with a willingness to contribute to business development.
  • Knowledge of Legal Aid work is desirable, but not essential.
