Your Role
As a Senior Development Officer (Building), you'll play a key role in assessing development applications, ensuring compliance with legislation, and mentoring team members. You'll provide expert advice, lead inspections, and actively contribute to building a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess complex development applications and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards
  • Provide expert guidance to staff, residents, and other departments
  • Mentor and coach team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for Council
  • Conduct building inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Construction Management and Economics or equivalent
  • Accreditation as Building Level 2 (Building Surveyor) under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity and empathy
