Responsibilities
  • Ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children facing educational barriers, and committed to providing them with the best possible support and opportunities
  • Work closely with families and professionals to arrange appropriate education for permanently excluded pupils and those unable to attend school due to illness or other reasons
  • Serve as the main point of contact between families, schools, and alternative education providers, ensuring effective communication and smooth transitions
  • Work closely with the local pupil referral unit, medical education and alternative education providers to secure and manage alternative educational arrangements.
  • Represent the Local Authority at permanent exclusion Governing Body meetings and Independent Review Panels (IRPs) to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and guidance
  • Highly organised role requiring attention to detail in arranging and monitoring educational for pupils in challenging circumstances

This role is a fixed term/internal secondment opportunity for the purpose of maternity leave cover and will end on 14 August 2027. Please ensure you obtain approval from your current line manager if you wish to apply for this post as a secondment opportunity.
