Job Description

Kingswood Medical Group (KMG), consisting of Kingswood Surgery and Carfax Medical Centre, are looking for a qualified GP to cover up to eight sessions a week (negotiable) across both sites.

We are based in Swindon and a PCN in our own right and also part of the Brunel Group with opportunities to shape clinical services to the wider community. We are a training practice committed to supporting newly qualified GP's and the team (including experienced GPs embedded within KMG) will provide you with all the support you need to aide your development.

KMG has a patient cohort of circa 29,000 covering the most deprived areas of Swindon and our patients are at the heart of all that we do.

Our clinical team is currently made up of five Partners, 14 Salaried GPs, a strong Nursing team, Pharmacist team and a Personalised Care Team consisting of Mental Health Nurses, Paramedic, Social Prescribers and a Dietitian. We are well supported by ARRS staff within our PCN. We hold daily GP meetings during the coffee break, daily nursing team meetings, monthly clinical meetings and quarterly GP Education Afternoons.

We are a certified training and research practice with GP trainers and a supportive environment for both experienced and recently qualified GPs, Pharmacists and Nurses. Special interests and portfolio working is supported and encouraged.

Our clinical system is SystmOne along with the support of our newly acquired Welby system for accurate reporting, recall system and medicine management.

Your new role as GP:

You will be expected to undertake a variety of duties to deliver surgery consultations.

  • Face to Face and Telephone appointments
  • Home visits when required
  • Complete all necessary documentation relating to patient care, including referral letters, certification of sickness etc.
  • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements, delivering enhanced services
  • Complete all necessary documentation and administrative work relating to patient care

You will be making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems in line with current practices' disease management protocols and assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
