The role will include:

  • Face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • Management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Clinical administration associated with patient care.
  • Participation in practice meetings and quality improvement activities.
  • Contribution to the educational and training ethos of the practice where appropriate.

The successful candidate willprovide high-quality NHS primary medical services whilst working collaborativelywithin a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes for patients.

The post holder will beexpected to contribute positively to the culture and values of the practice,demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, accountability and a commitment toworking constructively with colleagues across all disciplines.

Person Specification Experience
  • Experience of working within UK General Practice
  • Ability to independently assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Evidence of safe and effective prescribing practice
  • Experience managing clinical risk and uncertainty appropriately
  • Ability to provide holistic, patient-centred care
  • Experience within a GP training practice
  • Experience supervising trainees, students or other clinicians
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects
  • Experience within multidisciplinary or integrated care teams
  • Experience supporting service redesign
Clinical Knowledge and Skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based medicine and NICE guidance
  • Strong consultation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complexity within primary care
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for adults and children
  • High standard of clinical record keeping and documentation
  • Additional specialist clinical interests
  • Experience using population health approaches
  • Experience supporting long-term condition pathways
  • Experience of clinical leadership
  • Experience supporting clinical education programmes
Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
  • Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation compliance
  • Additional postgraduate qualifications relevant to primary care
  • Teaching or educational qualifications
  • Special interest or enhanced skills relevant to practice population needs
