Research & Development (R&D) Administrator

Oxford Health Research and Development (R&D) Department supports cutting edge Mental Health and Community research that seeks to improve patient outcomes and care. We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented R&D Administrator to join our team to provide high quality administrative support across the Department. You will be well organised, flexible, have good attention to detail and be able to manage a varied workload. In return, we offer a friendly and supportive working environment.
Main duties of the job- Administrative support across the R&D Department, including word processing, document formatting, meeting support and senior diary management.
- Attendance at meetings, taking accurate minutes, producing action logs, and distributing key information in a timely manner.
- Supporting event planning and coordination (e.g., away days, small conferences).
- Day to day management of bespoke and non bespoke R&D systems (training will be provided).
- Higher Education qualification (i.e. A Level / NVQ Level 3 standard), or equivalent/previous experience in an Administration Assistant role.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Conversant in the Internet and the use of web based systems.
- Knowledge of secretarial and administrative procedures.
- Understanding of information governance and security in relation to patient data.
- Awareness of current legislation regarding research governance and data protection.
- IT literate and confident in the use of IT systems and web based communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and deliver team objectives.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise sometimes conflicting workloads and manage own time effectively.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workload in a challenging and demanding environment.
- RSA III Typing/Word Processing, or equivalent.
- Relevant office administration experience, including arranging and servicing meetings and taking and transcribing minutes.
- Administrative experience in a healthcare environment, such as the NHS.
- Experience of maintaining efficient paper and computerised office filing systems.
- Administrative experience in a clinical research environment.
