Part-Time Trumpet Teacher

Newpark Academy of Music is seeking an experienced and dedicated trumpet teacher to join our faculty on a part time basis. This role is ideal for a teacher who is confident working with students across all levels, from complete beginners through to upper intermediate and advanced performers.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of major exam boards and be comfortable preparing students for all aspects of practical exams, including repertoire, technical work, aural skills, and overall musical development.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, engaging one to one trumpet lessons to students of varying ages and abilities
• Prepare students for graded exams where appropriate, ensuring a well rounded and thorough approach
• Support students in developing strong musicianship, technique, and musical understanding
• Prepare students for performances and concerts throughout the academic year
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students and their families regarding progress and goals

Requirements

• Proven experience teaching trumpet across a range of levels, including advanced students
• Strong working knowledge of relevant exam boards (such as RIAM, ABRSM, Trinity, or equivalent)
• A flexible, thoughtful approach to teaching, with the confidence to adapt to individual student needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirables

• Ability to teach other brass instruments (French horn, trombone, euphonium, or tuba)
