Job Description

Brymore is a State Boarding School for boys aged 11 - 16 set in its own 60 acre site with a working farm, gardens, workshops and sports facilities which are fully utilised in the delivery of the curriculum to over 340 students of which 150 are boarders. The school is currently expanding and this is an exciting time in Brymore s development.

Part-Time Matron

Required ASAP

19 hours per week, 36 weeks per year (term time, plus 3 inset days and 3 end-of-term Saturdays).

Salary: BTCT points 7-9, commencing at point 7. Actual starting salary: £10,670.32 per annum.

We are seeking a caring, organised and practical Part-Time Matron to join our team. This is a rewarding role supporting the wellbeing, development and day to day pastoral needs of pupils across the Academy.

Working Hours

There is some flexibility with shift patterns, which can be discussed at interview. Matrons work a mix of morning, afternoon and evening shifts, including one Sunday duty every four weeks during term time (3.30pm 9.30pm). The rota may be subject to reasonable change with consultation.

About the Role

As a Matron, you will play an important part in supporting our boarding house team and ensuring the smooth running of the boarding environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to pupils
  • Overseeing first aid provision (full training provided; no prior first aid experience needed)
  • Supporting the emotional and practical wellbeing of pupils
  • Working collaboratively with boarding house staff
  • We are looking for someone warm, approachable and committed to delivering high quality pastoral care where the wellbeing of all pupils is central to everything we do.
