Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer
Location: Reading, Berkshire.
Salary / Benefits: £24k - £38k + Training + Benefits

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting in the West London / M4 corridor region for a Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer to join a busy legionella company, working across Commercial, Industrial, Public Sector, and Educational sites to deliver high spec legionella risk assessments. The ideal candidate will come from a strong water hygiene background and will be happy undertaking a split role of risk assessments and compliance duties.

Consideration will be given to candidates from: Harrow, Wembley, Twickenham, Richmond, Newbury, Kingston upon Thames, Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Hemel Hempstead, Buckingham, Brackley, Beaconsfield, Reading, Bracknell, Woking, Camberley, Frimley, Aldershot, Farnham, Epsom, Farnborough.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working hands on as a Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer for a reputable Legionella Management company.
  • Holding an industry recognised qualification (e.g. City and Guilds / WMSoc) in Legionella Risk Assessment is essential.
  • Well versed in HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • IT literate, able to produce legionella reports, management plans and update onsite logbooks.
  • Able to organise workload in line with company and client need.
  • Keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
  • Undertaking Legionella Risk Assessments on both hot and cold water systems.
  • Water sampling and temperature monitoring.
  • TMV servicing and failsafe testing.
  • CWST cleans and disinfections.
  • Routine flushing of little used outlets.
  • Ensuring work is performed in line with HSG 274 / ACoP L8 guidelines.
  • Creating site specific schematic drawings and amending them when required.
  • Using schematic drawings to ensure risk assessments are carried out correctly.
  • Providing clients with detailed legionella management plans based on site findings, ensuring they are fully aware of actions required.
  • Producing detailed legionella reports based on site findings.
  • Updating onsite logbooks upon completion of work.
