Lead Senior Pharmacy Technician Research Support

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacy technician with an interest in digital health systems to further their experience by undertaking research and evaluation within the Centre for Medication Safety and Service Quality. Working with colleagues in the pharmacy department and the NIHR North West London Patient Safety Research Collaboration, the post holder will be supporting research and evaluation, focusing on an evaluation of the electronic prescription service in the hospital context
Main duties of the job- The role will mainly involve supporting the design of data collection methods, data collection and analysis, report writing and dissemination, all within the area of digital medication safety.

- The post holder will also support our broader work to encourage pharmacy staff to get more involved with research and evaluation.

Person Specification Education- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
- Mandatory professional CPD as defined by GPhC
- English and Maths to GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
- A1 NVQ Assessor (or to be achieved within 12 months of commencement)
- Postgraduate research degree eg MRes, MPhil or PhD
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good ability to organise and prioritise work
- Good knowledge of the main roles and practice of pharmacy staff

- A good understanding of national and local priorities
- Analytical ability for problem solving
- 3 years' experience of working in hospital pharmacy post qualification
- Experience of hospital computer systems and evidence of computer literacy
- Experience of patient counselling with regard to medications

- Experience with managing research / evaluation projects in the hospital setting
