Job Description

The EPA Internship Programme provides a unique opportunity to gain environmental protection work experience while pursuing your university degree.

The EPA offers paid internships across a variety of disciplines to Third-Level students who need to complete an internship as part of their qualification. It is an opportunity for students to gain insights into life at the EPA, acquire new skills, and develop their knowledge in environmental protection.

How long do internships last?

3 months minimum.

Length of internship and start date will be in line with individual college placement requirements.

Who can apply?
  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.
  • Students whereby an internship is mandatory as part of their course.
  • Students who can work onsite at the EPA office where the internship programme is being offered. This can be Wexford, Mayo, Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny or Monaghan and programmes are typically aligned with the college location.
What can you expect from an Internship at the EPA?

The EPA's Internship Programme offers students the opportunity to put into practice the theories and methodologies studied in college. During the placement, the intern will:

  • gain practical work experience,
  • acquire new knowledge,
  • develop a wide range of skills in a real-world working environment.
Is it a paid internship?

Yes, interns are paid by the EPA.
