The Role

We are seeking a proactive General Haulage Planner to organise loads, routes, vehicles and drivers so goods move efficiently and legally.

Key Responsibilities for a General Haulage Planner
  • Coordinating the movement of goods, that includes:
  • Assigning jobs to drivers and vehicles
  • Planning cost efficient routes (fuel, time, tolls)
  • Scheduling deliveries and collections
  • Monitoring driver hours and compliance
  • Reacting quickly to issues such as traffic congestion, breakdowns or last minute jobs
About You
  • Prior transport operations and general haulage experience essential
  • Strong organisation and multitasking
  • Good geographic knowledge (UK roads, motorways, restrictions)
  • IT skills (transport management systems, Excel, tracking software)
  • Good communication (drivers, warehouses, clients)
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving under pressure
  • A transport related qualification desirable however experience and willingness to learn are paramount
