Job Description

Caxton Payments is seeking a self-motivated, proactive, and organized Financial Crime Analyst to join our Compliance team. You will be part of a small but skilled team, involved in identifying and preventing financial crimes such as money laundering through data analysis and collaboration with various teams. Basic proficiency in SQL, Python, and coding is required. If you have a strong interest in financial crime prevention and experience in detecting suspicious activities, this role could be a good fit for you.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Client Onboarding: Conduct due diligence on new clients, assess and verify client information to identify risks.
  2. Transaction Monitoring: Monitor transactions, utilize monitoring systems, analyze data using Python and SQL, and refine alert rules.
  3. Knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations: Stay updated on regulations and ensure compliance.
  4. Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs): Prepare and submit SARs, document suspicious cases.
  5. Fraud Investigations: Investigate suspicious activities, collaborate with law enforcement, compile evidence.
  6. Financial Crime Detection and Management: Identify emerging risks and collaborate on preventative measures.
  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, support policy development, and conduct reviews.
  8. Projects: Support compliance projects as needed.
Skills and Requirements
  • 12-18 months experience in Financial Crime roles.
  • Ability to translate business rules into logical conditions for monitoring platforms.
  • Basic proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Good understanding of money laundering regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
Preferred but not essential
  • Professional certification in AML or Financial Crime.
  • Experience with transaction monitoring applications.
