About the role

As we scale to handle millions of dollars of insurance risk daily, we need a DevOps Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to establish and maintain our Azure cloud infrastructure. You'll work closely with our engineering team building TypeScript/React frontends and Python backend services, ensuring we can rapidly prototype new features while maintaining the reliability and security our insurance partners expect.

This is a hands on role where you'll own our infrastructure as code using Terraform, optimise our deployment pipelines, and potentially support self-hosted AI capabilities for our data driven insurance insights platform.

How you will make an impact

• Build Scalable Infrastructure - Design and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform to support our high performance insurance exchange platform
• Enable Rapid Innovation - Implement CI/CD pipelines that let us trial new features quickly while maintaining stability for production systems
• Manage Multi Environment Strategy - Establish proper separation between dev, staging, and production environments with appropriate security controls
• Drive Best Practices - Champion modern development principles including automated testing, observability, monitoring, and infrastructure as code
• Support AI Initiatives - Evaluate and potentially implement self-hosted AI infrastructure to enhance our data driven market insights
• Optimise Performance & Costs - Ensure our platform can handle increasing transaction volumes while managing cloud costs effectively

What we are looking for

• 2-5 years hands on experience with Azure cloud services
• Strong Terraform expertise for infrastructure provisioning and management
• Experience deploying Python applications and React frontends in production
• Proven track record managing multi environment deployments with proper isolation
• Experience with Docker containerisation and orchestration
• Solid CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions)
• Understanding of security best practices for financial/insurance systems

Nice to have:

• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-305)
• Experience with event driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and big data systems
• Experience in FinTech/InsurTech or regulated industries
