Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join our team based at Southern Regional College Greenbank, Newry.

Working Pattern
  • 15 hours per week
  • Monday Friday
  • 07:30 am - 01:30 pm

The Role
  • Provide the highest level of cleaning service within your area of responsibility.
  • Respond positively, politely and promptly to all customer requirements while carrying out your duties professionally.
  • Deliver a range of general cleaning services including offices, meeting rooms, toilets, etc. site wide.
  • Ensure all stocks are replenished in your area of responsibility.
  • Verify regular checks of equipment and machines used during working hours, leaving all equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Familiarise yourself with and follow all company procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in the Health and Safety policy and report any dangers or hazards to your Line Manager.
  • Ensure all offices, toilets and amenity areas are presented clean and tidy.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety & Hygiene standards and regulations.
  • Report defective equipment, utensils or work floor surfaces and any other Health and Safety issues to your Line Manager.
The Person
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level One in Cleaning - Building Interiors is an advantage but not essential.
  • Previous customer service work experience.
  • Current BICS (B - Basic Instructional Competency Standard) qualifications.
  • Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day to day basis.
