Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh office 2 days per week for this position.

We're looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join out Customer Experience (CX) Platform team at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc.
This role will be focused on helping us continuouslydrive-up high qualityand secureapplications through implementing our best practices and standards. You will be working with the latest technologies and keeping our software currency fresh.
You'll be closely working with our Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, Cloud Engineers and Test Engineers to shape the quality of our products and platforms.

What you'll be doing
- As an Associate Software Engineer, and with support, we'd be looking to you to build features and technical proof of concepts, working alongside with our Software Engineers and Senior Engineers. You will assist in design and discovery phases ultimately enhancing our engineering team.
- You'll be key in delivering features through route to live changes in an Agile way of working.

We need you to have
- Basic understanding of and experience of IDE's.
- An understanding of software design patterns and principles.
- A degree in computing (or related discipline), or experience in a software engineering role.
- Understanding of Unit Testing concepts.
And if you have any of these, even better
- Understanding of AWS.
- Understanding of containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Agile ways of working and ceremonies.
- Knowledge of BDD and/or end-to-end testing.
