The role is a permanent position based out of our London office (hybrid working). Railpen takes a holistic view, focusing on how we serve members today and how we can positively impact the communities and the world they will retire into.To learn more about Railpen including our values, culture and purpose, visit our LinkedIn Life page The Role This role will be dedicated to supporting the Head of Infrastructure with ongoing portfolio and asset management activities, and implementing the Infrastructure Team operating model. The role will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure to support delivering priorities and key strategic initiatives, both internally and within our infrastructure investee companies. You will work on strategic plans and portfolio risk mitigating actions. This will not be a dedicated external or investment facing day-to-day role but will instead focus on driving our asset management practices to a high standard to achieve our goals.The candidate's responsibilities will be multi-faceted, ensuring the portfolio and its investee companies operate efficiently and supporting the Investment Managers and Analysts with their respective asset management plans. Internal stakeholder management and reporting will be key to the role. You will be responsible for supporting the team's preparation, review and implementation of asset management plans, business plans, budgeting and major projects to enhance asset value and ensure that operational learnings are effectively captured and integrated into investment and portfolio practices.This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. The Person The successful candidate will have significant experience in infrastructure asset management, with either a asset management, investment business/fund management or institutional investor background. You will be able to demonstrate significant hands-on experience of infrastructure investments which may include renewables/energy, waste, social, PFI, digital, transport or other infrastructure assets. A proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects and commercial contracts is fundamental as is the ability to identify and implement strategies to optimise asset performance, including the setting and delivery of asset management plan objectives. The ability to effectively coach, mentor and share best practice amongst direct reports is key to enable continuous improvement.As an Asset Management Director within the Infrastructure team you will be a self-starter and look to utilise time efficiently, focussing resource on existing assets as a priority to preserve and optimise value. The ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with a wide variety of internal teams including legal, finance, tax, sustainable ownership, and investment risk is key.
